NSW Component Certificates

NSW component certificates made simple. Essential documents to confirm compliance at key stages of your build.

Component certificates are an important part of the approval process in NSW. They’re the documents that confirm specific elements of your build, like structure, waterproofing, energy efficiency, or drainage, meet the right standards. These certificates are prepared and signed off by qualified specialists (for example, engineers or licensed trades) and then submitted to your certifier as part of the overall approval.

You’ll usually need Component Certificates at certain milestones during construction, or before we can issue your final Occupation Certificate. Having the right ones ready, in the correct format, keeps your project on track and avoids last-minute delays. On this page, you’ll find the certificates most commonly requested for NSW residential and commercial projects, available to download and use when you need them.

Please note:

For CC & CDC applications lodged between 1st May 2019 & 30th April 2023, you need to download your Component Certificate from the list of NCC 2019 certificates.

For CC & CDC applications lodged after 1st May 2023 (ABCB are yet to release the final adoption date of NCC 2025), you need to download your Component Certificate from the list of NCC 2022 certificates.
